The determination of year-end award winners will be based on points won at DRHA approved events throughout the calendar year. Exhibitors/horses must compete in at least 50% of all DRHA approved events to qualify for year-end awards.

The following list of events qualify for the DRHA Year End Awards Program:
DRHA Affiliate #1 at the AZ Sun Country Circuit, The Cactus Reining Classic/Affiliate #1 & #2, The High Roller Reining Classic, and The Scottsdale Classic Horse Show (for more information on these events click on the SHOW SCHEDULE BUTTON)

DRHA Point System: 1st place = 10 points, 2nd place = 9 points, 3rd place = 8 points, 4th place = 7 points, 5th place = 6 points, 6th place = 5 points, 7th place = 4 points, 8th place = 3 points, 9th place = 2 points, 10th place = 1 point

In the case of Non-Professional and Youth riders, the horse and rider combination with the most points won at the completion of the show season will be named champion. Placing for reserve champion will be awarded to the horse and rider combination with the second highest points earned, etc. In the Open divisions, points won will be allocated toward the horse, not rider, and therefore will count toward the horse’s year-end award status. In the event of a tie in any division, the tiebreaker will be based on the exhibitor/horse who participated in the largest number of DRHA approved events. If there is still a tie, the tiebreaker will be the exhibitor with the highest judge’s score in the qualifying division at the first event of the DRHA calendar year. Non-Professional, Green As Grass, Green Reiner and Youth exhibitors must compete on the same horse throughout the calendar year to be eligible for year-end awards. Both exhibitor and horse owner must be members of DRHA prior to competing for points to count toward year-end awards.
The DRHA is an affiliate of the National Reining Horse Association and is therefore governed by NRHA rules. These NRHA rules will apply to all exhibitors. It is not required that exhibitors be members of the NRHA to qualify for year-end awards, however DRHA strongly encourages everyone to become NRHA members and familiar with NRHA rules and guidelines.

Results are pending until final approval by the DRHA Board of Directors. Members must be in good standing with the DRHA and NRHA to receive awards for year end.

Awards will be available to be picked up at the 2012 Cactus Reining Classic Horse Show!
